The Pandanus Onboarding Process Explained

Starting a new job can come with a lot of unknowns, especially if you’re used to being thrown into roles with little to no communication. At Pandanus, we’ve built our onboarding process to be smooth, supportive, and transparent from day one.

We make sure you know what to expect, what to bring, and who’s there to back you if anything goes wrong. Because it’s not just about getting you on-site, it’s about setting you up for success.

Here’s what the journey looks like once you apply with Pandanus Workforce.

Once you’ve applied for a job with us, either via our website or a job board, our recruitment team gets to work reviewing your profile. We look at:

  • Relevant tickets and licences
  • Your previous experience
  • Your availability and location
  • Any specific skills or roles you’ve mentioned

We don’t just match you to any job, we aim to place you where your skills will be valued, and where you’ll have the best chance to succeed and keep working.

Once we’ve shortlisted you for a role, we’ll request a few key documents. These are essential to get you work-ready and compliant with site requirements.

Here’s what we usually ask for:

  • White Card (mandatory for construction sites)
  • Driver’s Licence (or photo ID)
  • Relevant tickets (e.g. forklift, EWP, traffic control, plant ops)
  • High Risk Work Licence (if applicable)
  • Updated resume (if not already supplied)
  • Right to work documentation (passport or visa, if needed)

We’ll also ask you to confirm your PPE, or let us know if you need assistance sourcing gear.

Before starting work, every candidate goes through a basic Pandanus induction. Our onboarding process includes:

  • An overview of our safety expectations
  • Policies around fatigue, PPE, and reporting issues
  • How to submit timesheets
  • What to do if you’re running late or can’t make it

Some clients also require a site-specific induction or online module. We’ll make sure you’re given access to this in advance so you’re not chasing logins at the last minute.

Our goal? You arrive on-site clear, confident, and compliant.

Before your first day, your Pandanus account manager will give you a call to run through your job details, including:

  • Site location and contact person
  • Start time and shift details
  • What to wear and bring
  • Site culture and expectations
  • Any travel or accommodation info (for remote roles)

They’ll also be your go-to contact once you’re placed, so you always have someone in your corner if something comes up.

This is one of the most important steps in our labour hire process, because we’re not just sending people to site. We’re building partnerships that work both ways.

Our support doesn’t stop once you clock on.

Throughout your placement, your account manager will check in regularly, usually via phone or SMS, to make sure things are going smoothly. They’ll also:

  • Confirm hours and help with timesheets
  • Handle any site issues or requests
  • Help you prepare for contract extensions or new roles

And if you’re finishing up soon, we’ll start lining up your next opportunity. We know that continuous work matters, and we do our best to keep good workers moving from job to job.

If you’re looking for labour hire work where the onboarding process is clear, respectful, and designed to help you succeed, you’re in the right place.

At Pandanus Workforce, we don’t believe in leaving people in the dark. We believe in setting you up for day-one success, and backing you from hire to site (and beyond).
